MSDN Developer Conference New York

MSDN Developer Conference New York

Hello everyone this is Kane again.  Well the conference went well.  The first thing was I did see Windows 7.  They said they decrease the amount of memory, and processing cycles it takes up.  Also they have made it more responsive, and faster.  But there was a problem the main computer for demonstration never came out of hibernation mode.  So responsiveness is out the window.  They had the HP touch, so they showed off the multi touch function.  So soon there will be more on that in the upcoming days.

Next thing is the new Visual Studios 2010.   The talk on it was mostly about C# and Visual Basic.  The way the two teams who are developing the back end for the two languages are coming closer together, I am not going to spoil this one so stay tuned for more information.

Windows Azure

Windows Azure

The last big thing is Windows Azure.  No it is not a new operating system.  It is just about everything else you can think of it.  Okay I know that is confusing but stay with me here.  Okay the target of Windows Azure is for both consumers and developers.  Consumers can sync specific folders on all there device.  So all the computers will have the same folders that were synced, Also consumers will have a virtual desktop were they can edit folders and run applications which will also install on the synced computer.  Now for developers they have everything the consumers have also they can create their own applications that will work with Windows Azure.  So if anything, think of Windows Azure as a cloud of information and processing power.

Well there is more but these are the three main things that I saw.  And the way it looks even though it has been a while since the last attempt that Microsoft made to take over the world using Live ID.  It looks like their new plot is to use Windows Azure to attempt to take over the world again and also use Windows 7 to cover their Vista loses.  Which were well noted in the Key note with a show of hands of how many people themselves or people in the house hold still use XP?  We will see how things work out for Microsoft.

As a last note please check on the right side of this blog.  I will have a set of differenct blog links under MSDN blogs.  So you can keep up with anything else that is going on that I may not put up on my blog.  Also some other important links for other MSDN things.  Well hope to see you later.  So stay tuned.
