Atmosphir Beta 1.4 Review
Atmosphir is a free game that can be downloaded from atmosphir.com . Atmosphir has been out for about eight months. They are under Minor Studios. Their goal is to bring a free and creative game to PC’s, Mac’s, and even Linux. They are also dealing a bit with education. They have three design challenges that they first used when Atmosphir started. They also have another sheet which is intended for grades four through eight to have them design their own levels, make up their rules, and make a map. This would encourage them to learn how to plane things out.
The nice thing is as of February 25, 2009 Atmosphir 1.4 went live. This new version of Atmosphir will allow people to customize their character. So the player can change gender, face, eyes, hair, nose, and much more. The only thing Atmosphir have done different is if you want to by certain items you must pay for them using atmos points. So the way it is looking for 500 atmos points is $5.00, 1000 atmos points is $10.00, and 2500 atmos points for $25.00. Well sooner or later they had to make money. But it is not as bad as some of the MMORPG’s that I have seen.
Right now Atmosphir is still in close beta. In about a month to two months they will be going into open beta. So if any of you would like to sign up go to http://atmosphir.com
Atmosphir 1.4 (New)

Thanks for the brief summary of additional features in the new 1.4 version of Atmosphir. My kids love the game because it is a creative tool for them like lego blocks. However, the atmos point system is equivalent to that of Wii points. Wii points are used for purchasing downloadable Wii games.
I wish the company a healthy start.
